Salobre Golf & Resort Par 71
18-hole course, located about 6 km (10 minutes by car) from Cho Manuel Residence
Recently inaugurated, this is one of the newest golf courses of the island of Gran Canaria. It is situated in a typical landscape of the southern part of the island with ravines, volcanic earth, views of mountains and the sea. The lush scenery and green gardens are in contrast with the desert surroundings. Dave Thomas and Roland Fauré designed this interesting and demanding course, on which you have to use all your skills if you want to be successfull. The natural features of the landscape have played an important part. Echoing with the common characteristic of the Gran Canarian countryside, more than 600 species of plants and trees have been established to give beauty to Salobre. Currently it has a par 71, 18-hole course occupying a six-kilometre area and a second course is under construction. Its facilities include a golf school, practise area, driving-range, putting green, club hire, pro-shop, valet parking and restaurant with terrace.
Campo de Golf Maspalomas Par 73
18-hole course, located about 5 km (10 minutes by car) from Cho Manuel Residence
Maspalomas is situated in the south-east of the island of Gran Canaria, which is one of the sunniest parts of the world. It´s the island´s most important area within the touristic sector. It is surrounded by the Maspalomas Dunes Nature Reserve, a protected area of more than 400 hectares and where the sea and the palm trees are silhouetted against the horizon. Maspalomas golf course is found in this paradise. It is surrounded by dunes and these had an influence on the design of the course, created by Mackenzie Ross. It is an extremely long and flat course, with lenghty, wide lanes. Even on the hottest days, the proximity of the sea and the mild breezes cooled by the trade winds, make a visit to this course a wonderful experience. International events have taken place on this 18-hole, par 73 course, with its practice green, driving-range, instructors, cart-club and bag hire, shop, snack-bar and restaurant.
El Cortijo Club de Campo Par 72
18-hole course, located about 35 minutes by car from Cho Manuel Residence
This course has been the venue for important international championships like the Spanish Open 2002 and the Peugeot Oki Tour. Just 6 kilometres from the capital Las Palmas, this course was designed by Blake Stirling and Marco Martín, and with up to six tees per hole, offers greater variety and difficulty. It has quick greens and the course boasts six lakes and more than 600 century-old palm trees. It is a par 72, 18-hole course with its golf school, practice course, chipping green, putting green, practice bunker and cart, club and bag hire.
Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas Par 71
18-hole course, located about 60 minutes by car from Cho Manuel Residence
Gran Canaria enjoys the distinction of housing the oldest golf club in Spain. It was already inaugurated in December 1891. It is situated close to the extinct Bandama volcano with a diameter of 800 m and a depth of 200 m. This is a testimony to the volcanic origen of Gran Canaria some 14 million years ago. The course has wonderful views of spectacular, deep ravines. Designed by Mackenzie Ross, it is a 71 par, 18-hole course with 2 putting greens, (1x floodlit), practice tee, pitching green, instructors, pro-shop, club hire service, a restaurant with an excellent wine cellar
Anfi Tauro Par 3
9-hole course, located about 30 minutes by car from Cho Manuel Residence
This new 3 Par, 9-hole course is situated in the south of the island a few kilometres from Mogan. It has spectacular lakes of cristal clear water as well as a variety of plants around the course. It has a completely flat practice tee offering the possibility to practise from both sides. It has also a putting green and a practice area. Another 18-hole course is under construction. Splendid views of the mountains and the sea can be enjoyed from this course.
El Cortijo Golf Center Par 3
18-hole course, located about 35 minutes by car from Cho Manuel Residence
This 3 par, 18-hole course is considered by experts to be one of the best in the world and is a small replica of the best american courses. But be prepared, this course has all the obstacles of any normal golf course, such as spectacular lakes and sand bunkers, that make a marvellous contrast to the green lushness of the course. It is next to the golf course "El Cortijo Club de Campo" and just five minutes from the capital Las Palmas. It is worth pointing out that this is the only floodlit course in Gran Canaria permitting golfers to play at night in magnificent temperatures. It has a pro-shop, bag and club hire and a restaurant.
